Advancing Hong Kong Pharmacy Profession Development – Local Continuing Education Programme

The Pharmaceutical Society of Hong Kong (PSHK) is launching a 3-year Continuing Education (CE) programme from 2019 to August 2021. This progarmme is funded by the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, the Government of HKSAR. Pharmacists practicing in all sectors can expect to gain useful knowledge from it.

This programme consists of 12 training sessions of different Medication Therapy Management (MTM) topics, focusing on pharmacotherapy for elderly. There will be attendance certificate for each session and also, if you finish 4 training sessions plus 4 practical MTM service sessions in the community (PSHK will make the arrangement) for our elders, PSHK will issue a MTM Certificate for you. Then you can specify that you are "PSHK Certified Geriatric Pharmacist"

Dr. Tai-Pang Ip

Dr. Ip graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1989. He received his specialist training in Queen Mary Hospital and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney, Australia and became a Specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism in 1997.

Dr. IP is a well-known physician in the clinical therapeutics of osteoporosis and diabetes. He is the leading author of the 2013 OSHK Guidelines for Clinical Management of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis in Hong Kong. Dr. Ip has been very active in promoting personalized approach in the pharmacological treatment of osteoporosis and diabetes to the profession. In the past 20 years, Dr. Ip has delivered more than 200 lectures on osteoporosis & diabetes in local, regional and international scientific meetings. He is also very active in clinical research. He has been the principal investigators at the local centre for a number of multicentre international studies on diabetes and osteoporosis treatment. He has authored more than 30 journal articles and conference abstracts.
